the cads went to cameron highlands a fortnight back… i’m pretty sure everyone had a great time shopping and photo-taking all over the place… and of course… the warm fellowship of our fellow colleagues…

it was a clear saturday morning when we set off down south… stopped in ipoh for dim sum breakfast at foh san… and some soya bean curd at funny mountain across the street… before heading up to the hills… it wasn’t all too cool during the sunny day but it was refreshing enough especially at night… we visited various places such as cactus valley… rose garden… butterfly farm… kea farm… bee farm… brinchang night market… sungei palas boh tea centre… well… that was about it… dinner that night was the customary steamboat most tourists would have i guess… although i am hardly a fan of it…

we returned on sunday afternoon with the bus filled with the overwhelming aroma of strawberries and flowers… many took the opportunity to buy cheap and fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers and even honey… i hardly spent any money besides purchasing a box of strawberries and a few tubes of strawberry popsicles… and hence became known for being the thriftiest one in the busload… we had an early dinner in lou wong for bean sprout chicken… before continuing our journey home…

dais

one weekend last month… i was in a remote village near grik for a wedding shoot… the place where i stayed and its surroundings were pretty cool (literally!)… the air was fresh and the atmosphere was so laid back… it was a fun place to have a paid vacation ;)

it was truly a traditional malay wedding with the perfect setting… friends, relatives and neighbours from near and afar were helping out through teamwork (gotong-royong) round the clock… be it the preparation of food for the party (kenduri) or the decorations of the wedding dais (pelamin), bridal room ( bilik kelamin) and the gifts(hantaran)

the main highlights of the day were the prayer recital (doa yasin)… followed by the marriage solemnisation (akad nikah) at the mosque just down the road… the lunch (kenduri) itself of course… and last but not least… the bersanding ceremony on the wedding dais where family and friends will take turns to congratulate the bride and groom…

pong

September 6th, 2008

here are some shots of the ping pong tournament organized at my workplace the month before last… the fact that i’m posting photos from july speaks volumes on my increasing backlog of photographs which i have yet to post… let alone hdr… it has indeed been a hectic period of constant learning both on and off work… just a couple of weeks ago… i was outstation for a wedding shoot… which was a great experience and getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city…

i’d love to write more someday especially on my newfound friends codeigniter and jquery… perhaps by penning down my coding experience… it’ll help me retain what i have learnt and document my trials, errors and best-known methods… at least for my reference :)

but then again… time is passing faster than i would wish it to… but try i must… to do the best i can… as fast as i can…
